So if you are going to successfully invest in introducing a plane into the light sport aircraft market, you had better do your homework. Tony Anderson of FK Light Planes U.S.A. has been involved in ultralight and light sport aviation since the early 80's. He is an Advanced flight instructor, commercial pilot land and sea, and has handled the Quicksilver and Drifter line of aircraft. He owns and operates Ultralight Adventures a seaplane facility for over 12 years. Recently he has expanded his business interests with the opening of FK Light Planes U.S.A. based out of North Perry Airport Pembroke Pines Florida. It is an 8,000 square foot facility, which includes an office, service bay, and aircraft hangar space. It is a towered field, with 4 runways the longest being 3400 feet. FK Light Planes has two full time flight instructors, 3 service staff and is an authorized FAA testing center. Ground school and flight training is currently being offered on the FK 9 and Savanna, with a 912 Drifter on wheels scheduled to come on line in early June 2006. Flight training and light sport aircraft service and maintenance are only a part of his operation. His main focus is the importation and sales of the FK9 Mark IV from FK Lightplanes. Tony first got interested in the FK 9 while on a motorcycle tour through the Alps. On the tour he dropped into see several Light Sport Aircraft manufacturers including FK Light Planes in Germany.
