Twenty nine years ago Tony Nicorvo flew into Sun N Fun in an Easy Riser, and it changed his life forever. He moved down to Florida and when Advanced Aviation came out with their two seat King Cobra, he became one of the busiest flight instructor in Florida. Any time I was out at his field he would be flying the wings of his two place King Cobra. He then became involved flying the first fixed ultralight style tow plane for pulling up hang gliders, opening up a whole new world of flying for hang glider pilots. Later Tony starred in a Walt Disney show which ran for several years, flying with a group of Buccaneer Amphibian XA pilots, three Maxair Rockets, and a Maxair Drifter on floats which preformed a daily airshow at Disneyland in Florida. I ran into Tony this year at Sun N Fun in the Higher Class Aviation booth. Tony is a commercial instructor and teamed up with the Higher Class because they are one of only a handful of American LSA manufactures, and because of the quality of aircraft that they produce. As an instructor he was also impressed by the features the Hornet offers, such as dual controls, toe brakes, electric trim, electric flaps, air bag suspension on all three wheels. The plane can be flown with doors on or off, and has proven to be an excellent float plane. Tony indicates that there are also a number of engine options available for the Hornet ranging from the Rotax 503 and 582 on up to the 912 and 912S. He is also very excited about the latest Hornet engine installation the Rotamax Rotary engine.
